10-12 Class

Today we corrected last night's homework on DO's. Next I collected this work, along with Tuesday Night's homework on nouns as subjects.

Our discussion today centered around nouns as IOs. We even started putting it all together by labeling 1) the subject, 2) the verb, 3) the DO, and now 4) the IO.

Class/Homework:
Page 414/415 #1-15. Directions: find the Subject (S=), Verb (V=), Direct Object (DO=), and Indirect Object (IO=) for each sentence. Remember there may be more than one subject, verb, do, or io for each sentence.

Part B, follow the directions for #16-20.

Wednesday, October 11, 2006

10-11 Class

Today we corrected last night's homework.

Next we discussed nouns as direct objects (DOs). Remember DOs answer the questions "what" or "whom." Also, there can be more than one DO in a sentence.

Class/Homework:
Page 412/413
Part A: write the entire sentence. Draw a line under the verb and draw an arrow from the verb to the DO(s).

Part B: you do not have to write out the sentences. Simply write the verb (V=______) and the direct object (DO=______). Remember to make the direct object more precise like the directions ask.
